Plume oboes were designed to address recurring issues: the weight of the instrument, ease of sound production, and budget, all within an ecological and sustainable approach. To achieve this, we chose an innovative concept: an evolutive oboe based on the use of a lightweight wood with a rich and warm tone — padauk.
With the desire to restore meaning to instrument making and maintenance, we made a bold choice: an evolutive instrument that will accompany you throughout your life.
We therefore offer 3 different models, each corresponding to a stage in a musician’s journey: the Plume “Small Hands”, the Plume “Evolutive”, and the Plume “S-Pro”.
The Plume will charm you with its warm sound, ease of playing, and its adaptability at every stage of your musical life.

SMALL HANDS
An ultra-light instrument thanks to its lower joint and bell in padauk, featuring simplified and ergonomic keywork. Ideal for very young oboists.
Upper joint: ebony, closed and offset G key, left G# only, no third octave key and no C# or D trill keys.
Lower joint: padauk with ebony inserts, extended F# key, closed and offset D key, redesigned C/C#/Eb ergonomics, left Eb, low F resonance, B/C# linkage.
Bell: padauk, Bb resonance.
Cork pads (except low C, B, Bb and Bb resonance in skin).
Option “Ultra-Plume”: crow’s foot removed and maple bell without key (on request only).

EVOLUTIVE
Almost complete, with a padauk bell, this model is a solid reference to accompany the young student up to the end of the second cycle.
Upper joint: ebony, third octave key, standard G key, C# and D trill keys, right and left G#, prepared for Ab roller key.
Lower joint: ebony, extended F# key, left F and Eb, closed D key, low F resonance, B/C# linkage, prepared for low Bb key.
Bell: padauk, Bb resonance.
Cork pads (except low C, B, Bb and Bb resonance in skin).
Option “Evolution S-Pro”: bell replacement, completion of missing keys, and full tuning check.

S-PRO
A semi-professional oboe entirely in ebony, upgraded version of the Evolutive model.
Includes Evolutive keywork plus:

You may wonder how we can offer such affordable prices. We are simply a small company with small production. We have very few intermediaries in production and none in sales. We do not aim to sell our instruments outside France. Our goal is for everyone to have access to a quality new instrument.
